Iron Chef

Alright all you aspiring chefs, wives, or anyone who cooks, I need your expertise. I have quite a few ingredients in my house that I haven't really touched, mostly because I don't know what to make with them. So I've listed a few of these items below-read through them.

Small White Beans, Black Beans, Red Kidney Beans. All of these beans are dry by the way.
Mango Chutney (I used this once, but haven't touched it since. Ideas?)
Yellow Corn Meal (Something besides just plain cornbread)
Dry Ranch Dressing Packets

Please share your recipes and ideas with me!

ok. I've had the same problem with my dry beans. Here's what you do: You don't have to soak them if you have a crock pot. Put one pound beans and 6 cups water and turn to high. You can start it in the morning and it will be ready around noon. If you put a slice of onion in it, it will give it flavor. If you put one clove of garlic- the whole clove it will make it so it won't give as much gas.
You can then, add them to chilli or stew or chill them and add to salads or you can refry them in a little bit of oil in a frying pan. I LOVE refried black beans! Refried beans are easy to use for mexican recipes.
You can cook any kind of bean in a crock pot. I hope that helps! and I hope you have a crock pot- cause otherwise, I don't what to tell you. Good luck!

Trent, that sounds really good too! And my husband likes Red Potatoes too--that will be my dinner later this week. I'm actually cooking some beans right now. :)
