Settlers of Catan

Once upon a time, Richard and I played Settlers with some friends, and I made them take a picture of us, because we hardly have pictures together. Great shot, eh?

My friend, Chelsie

One of my friends, Chelsie, came up to Seattle for a quick weekend visit. And she did my dishes! I told her she could stay as long as she wanted. We took a quick trip to Cupcake Royale on Friday afternoon. Yum! And with all the good weather we walked around the Ballard Locks. Michael wanted to be with Chelsie the entire time. He just adored her (and the attention) and even made a sign for "Chelsie". He used it every time he said her name. Make a letter C with your hand and pat the fingertips against your chest. That is the sign.
On Saturday morning, we spent a couple of hours downtown at Pike's Place Market. Unfortunately, I had an 8 hour shift to work that afternoon, so I dropped Chelsie off at the EMP museum and Space Needle and she did her own thing for hours. Richard picked her up when she was done, and they went out to Ivars for dinner. I had to remind Richard he was a married man, and not to go on dates without me. :) After lunch today, Sunday, I had to take her to Greenlake to walk around and enjoy the beautiful weather.
Goodbye hugs! Michael ran after her and dramatically fell by the doorway when we were heading out the door to the airport. "Chelsieeeeeee"

Date Night!

I just love date nights even if it includes Michael tagging along. =) Last Friday, Richard dusted off his lonely bowling shoes that have been sitting in the trunk of our car for 2 years. Unbelievable, right? We used to go bowling all the time for dates in Utah but never had we gone up here. (Well, does the Wii count?)

This was also Michael's first time bowling. We only had time for one game, and luckily we had the bumpers up or my score would've been much worse. It was a lot of fun and we plan on going again, most definitely. Here's a photo dump of our evening.

Here's our final scores. Richard is actually Michael and vice-versa. I tell you, Wii Bowling is MUCH easier. I can get 6 strikes in a row. Definitely doesn't emulate real life as much as I had liked.
My attempt at a family picture for the evening.

After bowling, we topped off our night @ Cold Stone! Waffle cones are the yummiest.

Michael, did you have fun?

GO AWAY MOM!

In case you'd like to hear Michael yell at me to "Go away!" This happens mostly after the sun goes down, and he's spending time with daddy. I think he's either 1)afraid I'll steal daddy's attention, or 2)Putting Michael to bed.

One fell down...

No more monkeys jumping on the bed.

Bubble Bath

By the way, we shaved all his hair off. He's a baldy now.

Birthday Party it Up!

My friend Kristen came over.
Why did she come over? So we could decorate these!

Why did we decorate these cute Elmo and Cookie Monster cupcakes? For this little guy's birthday!
Wait, what? Wasn't that a month ago? Why, yes. Yes it was. But, we never officially partied it up! The Mahelona's invited us to Chuck E Cheese for a belated birthday party. They brought their grandkids, and they played and played, ate some pizza, then played some more.
(He didn't really like this ride)

Michael's favorite game was simple. Stick the token in, hit the button, and some tickets came out. (The part you don't see is a light moving up and down along a line of numbers. The goal is to try to hit the button when the light is on "bonus" otherwise you just get a few tickets, but Michael didn't really care).

We opened presents too. He received some awesome toy cars and a book. Then K & J Mahelona pulled out a tricycle! He absolutely LOVES it. In fact, after opening that gift, he didn't really prefer to play with any other toys in Chuck E Cheese. Thank you Mahelona family.
And, I just love this picture. It's just very silly I think.
